The Cercle FSER is composed of the laureates of the Foundation Schlumberger for Education and Research. Each year, three laureates are selected amongst the best young researchers who are starting up their lab in the field of life sciences in France. The FSER offers them financial support to purchase equipment and to hire staff at the beginning of their career as a laboratory head. Beyond this recognition and support that they earned early in their career, laureates form a community and they gather regularly.
They founded the Cercle FSER in 2014 because they felt that pure research was not valued enough, either in the general audience or in the political field. The Cercle FSER is thus their way to formalize their commitment to develop a constructive dialog between science and society.
